George Herbert Walker Bush respected tradition. He would not have wanted to ban a President from attending his funeral even it it was a man he despised like Donald Trump.

There have been some questions about how Trump will conduct himself, but given the history of animosity between him and the Bush family, that seems quite understandable.
I have yet to see a "liberal bastard" speak disrespectfully of Bush Senior, who is, after all, the one being remembered.

Where a sitting president being invited/allowed to the funeral of a former president is news. That would be a "duh" for anyone else in office, but Trump being allowed to attend Bush's funeral is a big deal. Because most smart people know Trump is a piece of ****.
he can attend,(as a basic matter of Presidential Protocol, if it was not for that, no one would want him there!!!) since he has to be there as part of respect for the Office of the Presidency, then as long as the Buffoon does not get up and try and talk!!!!! Outside of Presidential Protocol, no one wants him there.
It would be good if they could seat him at the back of the room, but for the sake of respect for the Office Only... he will likely get a front row seat. I'm sure, Carter, Clinton, Bush II and Obama, will prefer that Trump does not sit directly next to them.
But, Carter,Clinton, Bush II and Obama will likely uphold Presidential Integrity, and just go along with Presidential Protocol.
But they certainly don't have to engage in any extended dialog with Trump.
What ever happens, there is no way, Ivanka should be seated anywhere close to the front of the services.
I hope by some means, G.W. Bush would tell the Trump buffoon that he had better not tweet anything regarding the Funeral.... !!!!
