how do y'all feel about this ? i think gun owners are not a protected class so its the owners will to legally discriminate.

the roomates are obvious a-holes for rumaging thru her stuff while she was away.

this no different than my cousins who evicted a couple from his 3-family in somerville because they had a dog.

In your own home you certainly have the right to live with or without firearms. I don't want guns in my house either and would not live with someone that owned them. What is the story here?

Why is this even a news story? Roommates have a debate. Why does the rest of the world need to know that?

As for the girl with the firearms, why would she even want to stay there with pansies like that? If they ever get attacked, I'll bet they're going to wish she was around.

Now she can live with roommates who aren't such babies, or she can go live on her own. I prefer the latter, and maybe she will find out it's the best thing that happened.

A lot of people are uncomfortable around guns. I wonder if they tried to talk to the roommate about it?

Better to go their separate ways and all find more compatible house mates. It wasn't just the gun, but also the MAGA hat and all that that implies.
Who's name was on the lease?

I can completely understand that. If someone isn't comfortable with a gun they shouldn't have to live with one.

They pawed through her stuff without her consent. Do you really think they acted like adults and had a conversation about it?

If they aren't comfortable with a gun, they can move.

They should not have searched her room without her permission.

The main takeaway here? Learn about the people you plan to live with before moving in together. Some people don't want guns in their home. Some people are allergic to pets. Some people don't want to share an apartment with smokers.

Ask these questions before signing a lease.

https://heavy.com/news/2018/12/leyla-pirnie/

"Although, Pirnie said her biggest issue was her roommates, who she barely knew, going through her personal belongings."

Don't move in with people you barely know.

" Her landlord has said that if the other roommates move out, Pirnie would have to fill the apartment or foot the entire rent bill of more than $6,000 per month. She told the Free Beacon, “I’m still very much so being threatened out of my apartment. Either I leave and incur moving expenses or my roommates move and I incur their rent expenses… Doesn’t seem right. "

She wants a free lunch. The roommates are in the same pickle - there is an expense for all either way. But she can make out like a bandit on GoFundMe.

Yep, she was exhibiting some scary traits. You never know when one of these people are going to go postal on you.
