I know building contractors who have gone out of business for that very reason.

The issue is illegal immigration, so it is relevant. They are being pillaged by foreign policies and have to move to where the goods and money end up. If you don't see the irony, you have no idea how the economy works. It is a global economy [who do you think makes the clothes and mostly everything you use everyday?], it doesn't revolve around your community alone.

You think US is the only developed nation with factories oversea in undeveloped nations? My Samsung smartphone is made in Vietnam. A lot of US goods are made in China, Pakistan, and Vietnam. How many US factories are in central america?

I guess US and other developed nations should open our border for citizens from undeveloped nations to come and go as they wish. Sound legit

The point is that they are being exploited, if they were paid a half decent wage, illegal immigration wouldn't be a problem. Foreign companies is one part of the problems. Finances and so called "free trade" [there is nothing free when one side spends billions in subsidies] are the worst problems. I already went over this.

I am picking on the US, because it is the military force, the world police if you will. When somebody tries to change the status quo, they are assassinated, get government coups, sanctions, etc. by the US.

I have to keep repeating the same thing. Open borders is not going to solve anything, stop its causes. Isn't this obvious? I am amazed how little understanding there is, let alone the will to change anything.

Why so harsh on someone who has worked really hard to get here, and would likely keep working very hard once she got here?

She's not planning to gain economically "on the backs of those who are here", but rather, the way ALL prior immigrants did. By the sweat of their brow.
The idea that anyone who illegally enters or is trying to enter our country (or overstayed their visa) should be allowed to stay here is intellectually bankrupt. The pro-illegal immigration camp can play mental gymnastics and engage in intellectual dishonesty all they want, but there isn't a way around this.

I commend this woman's determination, but she needs to be put on a bus back to home. There are literally a billion other women throughout the globe who go through hell day in and day out to care for themselves and their families, and we couldn't even begin to think how we could accommodate the sheer mass of the global impoverished immigrating to our country.

Did I luck out on the roll of the dice compared to this woman? Yes. However, that doesn't entitle her to enter and live in this country illegally, and she sure as hell hasn't doesn't anything to warrant special consideration (such as local collaborators from the Iraq and Afghan wars).

If born in any country one doesn't have to earn their citizenship nor should they have to. What a loony remark to make. I have no problem with "legal" immigration it's illegal immigration and bogus asylum seekers that I object to. WTH is wrong with that? We have immigration and asylum laws and so does every other country in the world and for good reasons, duh.

Many illegal alien families are on welfare and they are a net drain on the taxpayer of over $100 billion a year. No one has a right to break laws and take a job they aren't lawfully entitled to just because there brows sweat while working them. Another loony remark to make.

No, it is not relevant. They may want to move. They do not have to. The US cannot end world poverty.

What we are concerned about in this country is very definitely the effect of illegal immigration at the community level.

Abolish socialism.
There. Fixed it.
No more freebies to attract anchor babies.
No benefit for hiring 'under the table.'
No more burdens on the American taxpayer.

The US and other rich countries create world poverty by manipulating prices and depressing wages. You just conveniently ignore the facts. It is typical to want to control the effects of the disease, and ignore the root of the problem. It is the same logic with the "war on drug", You know the result? More drugs and more consumption. Same with illegal immigration.

Great idea. Many squander their citizenship. Can she ever run for public office? A lot of folks ought to be traded out.

Yeah, there were no rich people poor people, rich countries poor countries before globalism.

But let's just blame rich people/countries just to be safe.

You will make a good communist.
