"The entire question about whether the president committed an impeachable offense now hinges on the testimony of two men: David Pecker and Allen Weisselberg, both cooperating witnesses in the SDNY investigation," a close Trump ally told NBC News.

Weisselberg is the chief financial officer for the Trump Organization who was allegedly in the center of the hush money operation. He was reportedly granted immunity for his testimony. Pecker is the chief executive at AMI.

The developments leave Trump as the lone party who argues the payments were not intended to influence the election.

First of all people, learn the damn law. You can ONLY be impeached for things you did WHILE IN OFFICE. While congress can TRY to impeach for whatever they want, it legally will go nowhere. This is beyond ridiculous.

How much money has been wasted in this endeavor just to dig into personal life?

We have a great economy, lower taxes, and less war. Just enjoy the peace and prosperity. A neoliberal will start a new war soon enough. It's how the country works.

As rabid as the Congressional Dems are to impeach him, it's a valid concern since they will have a majority next month.

That is where obstruction and perjury come into play. He hasn't testified to be able to commit perjury but you imagine that is on the roadmap. We will see I have no interest on impeachment just erosion of political power until 2020.

Actually what he should more worried about is going to jail along with his cronies, once he leaves office. Democrats if they have any common sense at all won't move to impeach him. No matter how you cut it, the remainder of his term will be filled with TALK about impeachment, and that's probably worse for the Republicans in the long run than if he were removed tomorrow. The more he is pushed into a corner the more damage that temper-tantrum Donny will do to them.

But, but, but WASTING MONEY IS WHAT REPUBLICANS LOVE!

Six years and more than $50 million in taxpayer money later, an independent counsel has concluded there is "insufficient evidence" to charge President Clinton and First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton with any criminal wrongdoing in the Whitewater land deal in Arkansas.

The Senate will not go through with it. It won't even make it to the floor for a vote.
People see right through what is taking place. Intimidation to STOP and play their game.

Impeachment of a POTUS is a political exercise, not a legal exercise that has the same parameters as in the judicial system. Legislators don't have to prove their assertions as they would in a normal court of law. All that matters are their opinions and, ultimately, their votes. They are their own audience. Only a sufficient number of them need be convinced. If voters don't like what they did, they can vote them out. Otherwise, they really only answer to each other.
