It seems to me that Clinton would either advocate intrusive legislation (such as Clintoncare) or he would give the Republicans exactly what they wanted (crime crackdown, welfare reform, banking and telecom deregulation). CHIP was Clinton's one lasting accomplishment for the Democrats.

Obama advocated legislation that started out as Republican alternatives to the legislation that Clinton wanted (Obamacare, cap and trade), but Republicans devoted themselves to opposing these bills/laws anyway. Obamacare was Obama's one lasting accomplishment.

Obama, because all Americans got to see what the Democrats were all about. Lying politicians.

The Clinton's hide their political agenda during the 1990's

A weak GOP candidate pool + a lot of stupid people voting. The incumbent has the upper hand anyway.

Clinton was far more presidential and got way more done. He was more of a politician who knew how to work with both sides. A booming economy under his presidency, although his term ended right before a major collapse, so he was really lucky in terms of timing. The sad thing for Clinton is that if if weren't for his personal life transgressions, he may have been thought of as one of top recent era presidents.

Obama was really nice and professional, so in terms of character he was better than Clinton. Obama was too polite and always joking/smiling like he was on a TV set, and seemed much less presidential. He seemed timid and came across as weak at times. He also didn't work across the aisle well, although he was working in the beginning era of divisive politics, and the republicans tried to prevent him from getting anything done. So the odds were stacked against him from the beginning. He stabilized the country out of a bad recession.

Not a close contest on either count.
I am conservative republican and I believe this. Clinton was a political mastermind and he could really communicate with and relate to the people. He also understood geopolitical issues very well. He was a good national manager. He also was corrupt and obviously not a good family man.

Obama was far more honest and clearly was/is a devoted family man. Even though I can’t stand his political beliefs and presidential policies I can’t help but give him kudos for the husband and father he appears to be. As a leader however he was seriously lacking. He made America look weak on the world stage, his domestic policies were limited in their success. Even his signature accomplishment Obamacare was poorly put together and rolled out in a way that made him look incompetent.

WOW you dems will go to ANY lengths to defend your heroes!

"And Clinton was a "good ole' boy" who knew the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted "presidential."'

So, getting BJs and sticking cigars up a woman's vagina IN THE OVAL OFFICE WHILE HE IS "working" is following " the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted "presidential".

Setting up a War room" to discredit ALL the "bimbo's" who made sex accusations against him was " the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted "presidential"

Going on national TV and DENYING EQUIVALENTLY, "I did NOT have sexual relations with THAT woman....!" is folowing "the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted presidential.", when he knew DAMNED WELL what he had done.

Lying in a court of law is following " the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted "presidential'.

Firing a man who had served for MANY presidents in running the White House Travel Office is FIRED in order to bring in a family member, THEN has the IRS go after him, is following, " the basic rules of civility, decorum and acted "presidential."

We DO live in DIFFERENT worlds and have different meanings to words!

If I could have one of them back, it would be Obama.
" Even people on the other side were taken in by his charm and personality." Very few and can you name them.who agrees with your caim

I am on the "other side" and don't know a single person on the "other side" who would agree with your claim about what THEY think!

"You can fool SOME of the people ALL of the time", as they say.

The only thing he really like doing was getting together with Hollywood to fundraise.
"didn't get together with Congress much"

Even the dems in Congress complained about how they seldom met with him to discuss issues.

He did NOT have a meeting every morning with his Intelligence group as most other presidents did, Instead, he read a synopsis of the briefing.

He ruled with, "I have a pen and a phone"
