But apparently we need less regulations because there is absolutely no way in heck a for-profit industry would ever not play by the rules of free markets, right? How many people have died because of this? How many billions of dollars in damages have been inflicted on the the taxpaying citizens of this country? Is there no bar low enough that corporatists will not stoop below?

How could this happen and get its start on a democrat Presidents and democrat admin. watch ? They say they are for the little people.
I wonder if the drug industry was counting on getting the same deal as the bankers. A fine and free to go out and do it again. A.G. Holder's kind of justice.
Might have thought Hillary was going to win and all they would have to do is donate to the Clinton Foundation. As long as Hillary gets her cut. They would be free to come up with a new plan and be sure to figure in her cut and maximize profits next time.

These shysters are in bed with the politicians to look the other way.

Mysterious price spikes continue to roil pharmacies and patient groups occasionally, though widespread price collusion was curtailed after authorities issued subpoenas in recent years, said Michael Cole, a Connecticut assistant attorney general actively involved in the case. But many drugs remain at artificially inflated prices.

“There have not been rollbacks in the price increases,” he said. “We’re still paying.”

Real justice would be charging the politicians with a crime who took money from those drug companies found guilty. Only problem is they have made it legal for themselves to be a party in a conspiracy to commit a crime. Protecting their own interest while acting against the interest of most citizens. Until that changes nothing changes but the constant parade of new criminals to be discovered. That kind of change isn't even on the horizon. Situation normal.

Big pharma has connected with the advertising industry to convince millions of Americans that a "magic pill" will solve their health issues.

Instead, thousands die annually from this poison.

But it's VERY profitable.

Ads encourage consumers to ask their doctor what Fill in the Blank can do for you.

Consumers who follow through and as their doctor are far more likely to be prescribed the medicine than others with similar symptoms who don’t ask for a specific medication. Big Pharma invests $ billions in ads and it pays off.

The US and NZ are the only countries that allow Big Pharma to market their products directly to consumers.

I think it is one again worth reminding the trumpy set that visit here about regs.

Regulations are the heart and soul of our success. Our laws, our regulations are the reason our nation attracts billions of dollar in new investments every year. They are the reason tech corps from around the world choose to list here in the US. IP protections mean companies want to be in the US where they are certain our gov will protect their rights. The tight regs and laws surrounding our investment markets mean companies that list here are perceived as safe. our regs around materials used in products, i standards for drugs and medical equipment ensure we are safe and that investors continue to invest here instead elsewhere.

When repubs cheer for reduced regs they are cheering for the long term demise of the USA. They are cheering out of ignorance and weak short term thinking.

Frankly the republican party has become the 'quick buck" , to hell with everyone else , to hell with my kids, to hell with my neighbors to hell with everyone not in my "gang" party.

who would have thought Repubs would be delighted when a repub potus opted to allow coal ash to be dumped into our rivers..... what an absolute reversal of the republican party. From protecting our land to destroying it in just one generation. Shame on every single republican.
