How about myself who will still have to work, as I am considered essential, and yet not know when I will get paid. I'm so glad you care about others .. smh

You replied to another poster that mentioned Texas and e-verify. Short memory?

All government shutdowns end up costing more than it would if the government continued operating.

Well then ~ reply to THAT poster because MY reply had nothing to do with Texas or Everify.

Have you forgotten how to use the quote feature properly?

Yep, shut'er down!

Or, just send the Seabees, the Army Combat Engineers, and the Air Force Red Horse Squadrons to the border and let them go to work. The wall would be built on time and under budget! The military units could be allowed to hire civilian workers to flesh out their work force.

Sounds good!

Actually, it costs money.

The last one in 2013 cost $24 billion. The GOP was blamed and their polls sank to about 13%.

Moot point. There will be no shutdown. Count on it.

Trump has big plans for the holidays and he would be blamed for it.

If there was a shutdown and Trump went on with his lavish lifestyle at Maralago, it would look like Nero fiddling while Rome burns.

Totally fine with that.

But spending $15B-$20B on literally building a giant wall along most of the border, that is an unfathomable waste of money that Trump is asking for.
The US spends over $150 billion / year on overseas military bases. How about closing ALL of them and posting American troops on the US border? I'm sure they would be far happier actually defending our country than any other country.

You are right, you do not, however, other countries require it for you to enter their country.

It was actually nice to see someone call him out on his lies during his televised special today - made to play to his base.

Instead of sitting there like a stump in a stupor (Pence) - Pelosi and Schumer actually called him out on his outright LIES today - in front of the press - something NO republican has had the balls to do since Trump was elected.

Trump obviously needs to process the fact that he can't negotiate for crap and the new Congress ain't gonna be rubber stamping all of his stupid ideas.

I predict the next two years will be most interesting.

Grab the popcorn and put your feet up.

government workers love these shut downs, they don't have to come to work, and get paid without using their leave
