So that's not an option.

But by not taking her challenge she wins by default.

So basically, Pelosi wins.

Heh.

<Watch this space for the coming reasons by Trump supporters as to why this is actually a "win" for Trump. Should be amusing.>

Why not just pardon Non violent Marijuana offenders from jails and prisons?
Frankly, I don't smoke the stuff and have no skin in the game here but it seems pointless to spend this money.

This is from an older article with almost 9 year old data so imagine the costs/savings to be much higher..

Boom, Wall paid for!!

" According to the U.S. Sentencing Commission, in 2010, the average prison sentence for inmates incarcerated for marijuana abuses is 36.8 months.
With 757,969 individuals incarcerated for marijuana abuse, at $21,006 a pop, that is $15,921,896,814 to keep these individuals imprisoned for one year. At this rate, over the course of 36.8 months, $44,765,690,442 would have to be coughed up by the American taxpayer to clothe, shelter, offer medical, dental and psychiatric care, maintain, transport, and educate these individuals and maintain facilities for them to live in."

I don’t like illegal immigration but what goes is is a wall when we learn that a woman 7 months pregnant was able to scale the wall recently? I want visa overstays and e-verify first.

Yes, indeed! Schumer says, "The Wall will not be a solution for border security!" Trump says, "It will be a total solution!" Once again Trump shows himself to be a gibbering fool, when he tries to debate against people who have political savvy. And Schumer, playing him like a puppet master, got Trump to say, "If we don't get everything we want, we'll shut down the government and be proud to do it!"

Pelosi has always been clever and able to defeat her opponents. Her calm and well-founded arguments in this conference, should squash any idle claims that she can no longer carry the weight as speaker of the house. The opposition is going to be suffering some well-deserved pain, as the Blue Wave continues to build and rescues our country. What a tribute it is to the strength and substance of our country, that we could survive two years of this madcap comedy. When a movie is made about it, it will take its place among the other entries in the Theatre of the Absurd.

Exactly. Why isn't he meeting with Ryan and McConnell instead?

Just the action of inviting Pelosi and Schumer over tells the Democratic leaders that the Congressional GOP doesn't support Trump's actions, and thus a sign of weakness coming from Trump.

Afterwards, Pelosi and Schumer gave a press conference in which she was asked about transparency and why she didn't want the press there.

Pelosi was brilliant. Said that she knew she would be confronting Trump on the facts and thought that this was best done without cameras in the room.

No, not entirely. A lot of good people will have to report to work with no pay. It impacts Border Patrol up here, among other things.

No SBA funded loans. No USDA/FSA loans to farmers, no liscensing or international trade approvals through US Dept. of Commerce, no approval of Federal Contracts for DOT or other necessary matters.

There is an enormous impact to the economy and no party wants that on their resume.

You think it’s funny that people that put their lives on the line have to work with no pay? At Christmas? All due to a tantrum that Don Quixote wants for his wall?

You fell many, many notches in my book.
