Stupid wall? It's not Trump's wall but the wall approved under the Secure Fence Act back in 2006 by a bi-partisan congress.

As for Mexico paying for it, it's not over till the fat sings but we need the funds up front right now to get it started. Even if the taxpayer has to pay for it the $25 billion wall is much cheaper than the over $100 billion a year that illegal aliens cost us.

I have a better idea.
Why don't we make the American companies who hire illegals in the first place pay for the Wall?
They wouldn't be coming here if they knew they had no chance to earn a living.

Everything that Trump has promoted in tax cuts and tariffs, is as though they were specifically designed to benefit him and his family's businesses. He's been trying to run the country as though he was a mob boss. And he has surrounded himself with numerous other criminals in his cabinet. When the nation is again in the hands of decent people, who are dedicated to providing the best for all of us, I expect that many of them will face major charges. They should have known better than to accept his nominations. They might have been able to stay under the radar, if they hadn't exposed themselves to public scrutiny. There will be countless people who will wish they had never heard the name, "Trump".

Can we have both? The wall and the government shutdown?

Pelosi isn't much a orator, and demurred (though she pulled the Jedi mind trick on Trump when she said "Trump shutdown"). She let her Senate colleague, Schumer, who is a bit of a press hotdog, take up the tag team and shoot a few barbs at Trump to goad him.

Evidently Trump felt compelled to lash out and stated he would own the shutdown. Bingo!

Schumer could barely stifle his glee.

No SBA funded loans. No USDA/FSA loans to farmers, no liscensing or international trade approvals through US Dept. of Commerce, no approval of Federal Contracts for DOT or other necessary matters.

There is an enormous impact to the economy and no party wants that on their resume.
Good. None of its necessary and if anything its all downright criminal, but don't worry your socialist sky wont fall without any of it.

Tell that to the business owner trying to get approval for a lucrative overseas deal. Or the farmer impacted by Trumps tariffs looking for short term relief.

I hope your family or friends don’t suffer, but hey- just tell them the same thing bud.

Let them eat cake. My how the GOP has fallen.

The White House lawn won't get mowed. I think the little boy who visited Trump in his first year and mowed the lawn then should be called back. Then give the kid a MAGA hat and a White House Christmas ornament.

Very, very shortsighted. I don’t even think you really understand the role of foreign export rules, I’d venture.

But hey- shut ‘er down. Let Trump own it. It’ll impress his core base and no one else.
