My guess is Trump or one or his cohorts reminded Lindsey of his position and that is why lindsey went from loudly attacking Trumpism to loudly supporting Trump...
Is there a real link to an actual investigation? A vague self-announced "investigation" by the "Democracy Coalition Project" doesn't move my needle much more than Joe Arpaio's Cold Case posse.
