Search for the term “idiot” on Google and several photographs of President Donald Trump will appear high in the image results.
On Tuesday, the search engine giant’s CEO Sundar Pichai had the task of explaining to members of Congress why that happens during a hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee.
Trump is not an idiot, but the CEO shouldn't have to explain how easy it is to manipulate algorithms.
Well, since they had to tell the Congress Critter that google doesn't make the iphone, my guess is such things are beyond their understanding anyway.
There is nothing - except for the laws of physics, etc. - that cannot be manipulated.
That should be self-evident at this point. Any system created by humans is easily manipulated by them.
It always amazes me that even common criminals figure out way to manipulate Amazon and other retailers....we are some smart monkeys!

Even if Trump was not an idiot in the opinion of some, he would still come up in lots of searches due because he is POTUS (gives extra weight to what he says) and he says so much stupid stuff. Even if he called others idiots he would still rank high.

Well, hurray. We finally get to agree on something. You are right, that even if Trump is the one using the word, it will be attached to his name. However, we all know that it's not because of that reason. Google's search engine algorithms have been messed with many times in the past. Usually by people who have nothing better to do. OR, by people like me who used to write SEO articles for companies using keywords to shove them up higher on the search engine. It's very easy to do.
As for them not knowing Google didn't create the iPhone...I think some of the congress critters have been in DC far too long, and are completely out of touch, I don't care what side they are on. There needs to be term limits. How can they be representatives of the people if they don't even have a clue what the people are doing, saying, or using.
