Vote for people who will require insurance companies to sell across state lines.
Get luekemia. Run up millions of dollars in health care costs.

It is currently legal to sell insurance across state lines. No one wants to do so.

I'm sure. I have in fact used that argument myself.

A 2% payroll tax is 1k a year if an employee makes 50k. That won’t cover squat.

Wages are about 40% of gdp. Health care costs 18%.

Wages have been dropping as a percent of GDP for a long time, and for all sorts of reason.
HC costs are rising for their own reasons.

One day the numbers might be the same if productivity per worker continues to rise, and HC costs continue on upward.

I don't see the world ending though.

Wow, half of income goes to health care. The current model is way broken.

Basically a response to a two percent payroll tax proposal. It would cover less than 5% of costs now and less in the future. The aging of America increases health care costs and reduces wages as a percentage of GDP.

No, it doesn't quite say that.

There is more to income than wages.

And deficit spending covers some HC costs.

Medicare in Canada is funded by several tax streams, not just income tax.

IMO we have to start soon thinking out of the box with HC.

The only way to manage both sides of the equation in the long run is through new central moneys.

Whether we go with a more central or private solution, at some point HC costs, after they exceed wages, will eventually exceed all the moneys in existence today.
