Lets discuss it.

37K died in auto accidents (texting or no texting)
40K died from a gunshot wounds

Where did you hear that 400 000 died on texting related crashes?

We don't kill them, over half kill themselves. Take away guns, they would find another way.
Maybe increased mental health care? Naw, too easy.

Less gun access may mean less suicide by use of a gun but doesn't mean less suicides in general? Are those ready to off themselves not going to because they can't use a gun?

Sure we are good at killing each other and/or ourselves.

There are plenty of other ways to commit suicide but guns are the most effective. Those who survive a first attempt have a low recidivism rate.

Major driver is increase in suicide, but if you look at the trended data, you'll see that even adjusted per 100K people, homicide is elevated at highs since at least 1999. Flat 2016-2017, growth from the 2000s..

Here's the data:
https://wonder.cdc.gov/controller/saved/D76/D48F344
Remove suicides, law enforcement. What percentage are gang activity/drug related/mental illness? Where is this subset occuring? I don't mean by state either, what part of what cities? How many are accidents?

Otherwise OP is hyperbolic fear mongering.

Lot of room for improvement there. Lesson: do not agree to every procedure your doctor recommends.
