There are plenty of other ways to commit suicide but guns are the most effective. Those who survive a first attempt have a low recidivism rate.
oh whatever, because on the flip side less gun access means less access to defend yourself. Sure you can defend yourself by some other means but it also means other ways will be less effective also.
But I already know what anti gun people will say to that , " but ...but statistics say chances are you won't be in a situation to have to defend yourself anyway".
Because you know, we should all our life's decisions based on statistics made by someone else.
Oh boy a whole 40,000 people. Half are suicides (good riddance) and a bunch are ghetto shootings (good riddance). I'm more worried about bad lettuce but don't let me take away your boogeyman.
Remove suicides, law enforcement. What percentage are gang activity/drug related/mental illness? Where is this subset occuring? I don't mean by state either, what part of what cities? How many are accidents?
Otherwise OP is hyperbolic fear mongering.
Well, blacks are 13.8 % of the population and commit 50% of the murders.
The solution, I've been told, is to put a loaded gun into each functioning hand of anyone with a pulse, whether man, woman, old, young, child, infant, etc; then we will reach the promised land of harmony envisioned by the Founding Fathers.
Over half of them suicides and far less than deaths from medical malpractice
So no problem then, I guess. It’s not like the US is seeing an unprecedented life expectancy drop... oh wait...
