Colorado springs is a military town. Fort Carson, Peterson Air Force Base, the air force academy. I was in 4th ID not station in carson but we would rotate through, I dont recall it being a nice place per se, it was about as ****ty as most army base towns like Kileen, TX. The landscape was nice but you know, pawn shop, payday loan, chinese food buffet, barber shop, rinse and repeat.
Yeah but penny pitcher night was fun and the cowgirls in their Rockies jeans were very, uh....friendly.

Ummm………….No. Not only no, but Hell no.
As someone familiar with both locations, you couldn't be more wrong. Apparently you never got too far from Fort Carson, which is understandable, as you weren't stationed there. It's a whole other world once you get away from south Academy Blvd., believe me.
Colorado Springs, like any city of comparable size, has its bad parts of town, but most of that city is beautiful, safe, and it is about as far from a Killeen Texas as you are going to find, in terms of military towns.
Please keep in mind that The Netherlands is one of the most densely populated areas of the world. But since they are centuries older as a society (and thus more mature), they obviously have a MUCH better handle on the drug problem than we in the USA do. I've been there -- it's a great place to be!

So ironic you would say that, while ignoring the evidence I provided in the very post you are replying to (and conveniently left it out of the quote to boot).
I didn't know minds could be as tightly closed as yours is.
Wait a minute, over here: //www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ts-cities.html you were saying how Colo Spgs so has its act together because of its Republican position that other places can't compare. Now your saying a crime ridden cess pool that can't take care of its citizens because of its Republican government. I'm confused, which is it?

Actually, he grew up Colo Spgs and Denver and returns on occasion to visit family. However, he rarely ever misses a headline to hammer Colo Spgs and Denver for their faults, such as this thread. So to see them held up as shining examples of success in the other thread I linked is somewhat out of character.
