She was in U.S. custody 8 hours without anyone giving her a sip of water.
How do such cruel people sleep at night?
ummmm. no ...
It says she was held in a location that had food, water and toilets before she was loaded onto a bus with her father ahead of a 94-mile (151km) journey to the nearest Border Patrol Station.
Where were you at? Why aren't you at the border with your resources helping out and showing your compassion and effort ???
I think it is heartbreaking and speaks to the desperation of the refugees.
The desperation, in this case, is entirely the result of people being encouraged, by anti-borders media and activists looking to create drama, to make a long, arduous journey with kids in tow. Without that element of goading, those people would have stayed home and would not be in the difficult situation they face now.
IF this is the case and she were immediately transported to Children's Hospital upon arrest - then I don't blame the border patrol.
IF she were left languishing for 8-10 hours while they tried to process a bunch of people - then I do.
That simple.
The so-called Moral Majority has always been a despicable group. THEY and their defense of allowing a 7 year old to die (IF that's what happened) - is all that is wrong with this country.
I want to know what that girl did for 8-10 hours after arrest. Was she given food? Water? Anything?
Not hardly. How many children now dead on Trump's watch in his tent cities?
There is something called care, custody, and control. That 7 year old was under the care, custody and control of the US Border patrol at the time of her death.
How they treated her in the 8-10 hours she was there - will determine if she was treated like a human being and died anyway; OR if she were left to die like an animal while no one lifted a finger to help her.
Those refugees, who come primarily from Central America, are fleeing repressive governments, rampant gang violence, and economic desperation. They include small children who’ve made the harrowing journey north. They are effectively trapped in Tijuana, waiting for the United States to process their applications even though it’s indicated an unwillingness to accept refugees.
You know what? There are people in Chicago who would love to flee rampant gang violence and economic desperation. They include small children who make the harrowing journey to school each day - hoping they won't be shot by a bullet intended for someone else. They are effectively trapped in their communities, but they're not waiting for the U.S. to do anything because they know the government allows guns and drugs into their neighborhoods, so it's all a lost cause.
After seeing the exact time line of everything that happened, I conclude that the parents are at fault.
