I agree with you.
I've already said that there are Republicans and then there is Scott Walker, who is as vile as it gets.

( This is the latest proof of it.)
My guess is, Wisconsin is counting days when this crook is gone from the office.

Good riddance.

No. It doesn't. The GOP has turned into something absolutely anti-American.

Scott Walker and the Republican's showed again why American can "NEVER AGAIN" Trust Republicans!!!!

The malice in their minds is that of "Savagery" !!!! ((a member of a people regarded as primitive and uncivilized, fierce, violent, and uncontrolled.))

Walker is vile but the republicans in WI are the ones who wrote the bill

The Republicans are making one last desperate rally, in the only way they know how to do, before their big crash. These aggregious and cowardly acts will just cause their rejection by the majority, all the more severe. They're just pounding more nails into their political coffin.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/14/u...tt-walker.html

FOX CROSSING, Wis. — Scott Walker, the outgoing Republican governor of Wisconsin, on Friday signed into law measures that diminish the power of his Democratic successor and expand the authority of Republican lawmakers who teamed up with him over the last eight years to move the state firmly to the right.
hopefully it will be challenged . the Rethugs have tried this a number of times and they have been stopped most of the time.

It is clearly an abuse of power and it is clear the intent is merely to cripple the opposition rather than to improve government.

If the Democrats did this in my state, I would vote against every single one of them who voted for it until the end of time. Period. This is straight up how to destroy our country.

I noticed some folks commenting like this was politics as usual, or tried to claim that democrats do this too. Thats simply not true. This is not usual or normal.

So, they had enough power left to Amend the State Constitution....
That is hard to do, unless the recent election was rigged and dems really don't have the support they think they do.

In WI, both houses of the state legislature are in firm control of the GOP - like almost 2:1. So, the only way to turn this midnight power grab back is through the courts. Lawyers already working on that.

Problem is, in WI, although gerrymandering has skewed our legislature, because Dems are losing influence in rural counties, even were the districts more impartially drawn, the GOP would probably be dominant much of the time.

Our state paper did a pretty good analysis of this a week ago, here:
Quote:
...........under even an unbiased map, the concentration of Democratic voters in urban areas is going to limit Democrats’ voting power across 99 Assembly districts. This has become an even bigger problem for Democrats because the party has lost ground in rural areas in recent years.

Democrats are destined under these circumstances to underperform their statewide vote when it comes to how many Assembly seats they win.

[Nonetheless]..........any fair reading of the numbers shows that the gerrymandered GOP map .......has given Republicans a grip on the Legislature that is entirely disproportionate to the party’s level of popular support in the state........
