Well, it is the independents that swing the elections, not the party members. The party will always for for their party, regardless. The swing voters, independents, are the ones who have us weave in and out between different administrations, which is why we went from Bush, to Obama, to Trump for example.
If it was up to the party backers, we would have the exact same part representation every single election, with changes coming slow, very slow.

And just for your info: I didn't vote for Trump. I certainly didn't vote for Hilarity. I generally go libertarian, although I do have a few issues with them as well. However, based on Trump's performance so far under the biggest smear campaign in history, I'm certainly a Trump supporter at this point.
