They said much the same thing about Truman. Now he's an icon of the Democrat party.

I do think that each generation hosts it's own values and appreciations. Challanges arise all the time - each differant from day to day, certainly year to year.

It is surely impossible to compare one time period and it's leaders, with another.

Every American president surely strived to do his best during his period. they were popularly recognized in their time as the best fit for the job.

George W. Bush will be looked upon by history much the same as George Washington is regarded for his time, and Abraham Lincoln in his.

George W. has been the only leader since 9/11, and has certainly done an amazing job leading the nation, and in fact the world during these trying times. Whom else could of, or would have done so well???

it is just scary to think that, with his term coming to a close soon, the next American leader will be completely without the 7 years experience that George W. has.

Truman was unpopular at the end of his second term mostly due to the Korean War. Events proved him right in that intervention, despite its unpopularity at the time. It's very doubtful that Bush's invasion will be similarly justified. It has already been proven bogus by all measures that he and his cronies used to manufacture consent prior to their invasion.

Bush only wishes he were in the same league as Truman. The truth is that Bush is in a league of his own.

You guys crack me up. 50 years from now he'll be the leader defending the country, sandwiched between the one who was impeached and before the worst liberal since Jimmy Carter. Historians will see facts; not the blind screaming present today.

Geez, what a shocker...sarcasm.
You cannot make statements about how good or bad a president was until about 10 years after they are out of office. Many decisions don't have time to fully play out, so impact is still undetermined in many areas.

In most cases, Id agree but in this case, absolutely not.

The apparent corruption and lack of transparency and damage caused by this white house is so damning that we can sum up his presidency now.

Sorry but he's no Ronald Reagan-not even close(and I hated Reagan)

Historians vs. George W. Bush

It’s interesting that with so many Starbucks and coffee drinkers that it took 7 ½ years for the nation to wakeup. Now how long will it take to fix the damage done to the nation?
