I hope she sues and gets a nice settlement, so she can move to a more "enlightened" state!

NY State passed an XO back in 2016 and there is a formal bill pending in the legislature to prohibit the use of public funds from companies that are boycotting Israel. I'm surprised no one has challenged this in the courts.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today issued Executive Order No. 157 directing state entities to divest all public funds supporting the Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions campaign against Israel. The first-in-the-nation action will ensure that no state agency or authority engages in or promotes any investment activity that would further the harmful and discriminatory Palestinian-backed Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign in New York State. The Governor made the announcement at the Celebrate Israel Parade.

Is Texas part of the US or Israel? They may as well replace the US flag with an Israeli flag on all their campuses.

The criminals running that state should be brought up on charges of treason.

How did Israel manage to exert so much influence in American governments? Does this country owe them something?

Why don't you take a look at the post just above yours. Is Gov. Andrew Cuomo a Republican? This isn't a left/right issue....as this poster asked:

That is the real question, and it's a question a LOT of people need to be answering why they continue to support this...because there are a lot of people who believe that "Israel can do no wrong", on both sides. Our politicians are largely bought and paid for, and some people need to be looking at exactly who is doing the buying.

The Jewish lobby is very powerful, that is how Israel gets such special treatment but this banning of boycotts by states is very unusual. Very un-American to ban protests. Quite the opposite when it came to South Africa back in the 1980's

Two states have already lost in the courts, I would love to be representing this teacher.

Quote:
A new wave of state laws that try to limit Americans’ constitutional right to engage in political boycotts is now 0 for 2 in federal court.
On Thursday night, a federal court blocked Arizona from enforcing a law requiring state contractors to certify that they are not participating in boycotts of Israel. The court agreed with the ACLU that the law likely violates contractors’ free speech rights under the First Amendment.
“A restriction of one’s ability to participate in collective calls to oppose Israel unquestionably burdens the protected expression of companies wishing to engage in such a boycott,” U.S. District Court Judge Diane J. Humetewa wrote in her decision issuing a preliminary injunction against the law.

You don't know what you're saying and you really don't have the big picture........and you don't have to worry there will be plenty of lawsuits CAIR will see to that.....as they slowly worm their way into our country. The plan is to destroy us by using our own laws against us......as this one is doing. All she had to do was sign the DOC. Texas is one of 8 states trying to head off this group...........getting out in front with a ban on Sharia as well.........she should try Japan.

Sorry, this is ridiculous. It doesn't matter if she's a Muslim, the fact is that these people have put into law that if you want to work with a state agency, you cannot boycott Israel. That's anybody, not just Muslims. That is against our Constitutional rights. I can't believe anyone would support this violation.

The right to free speech, the right to protest - means the government cannot make laws that violate those rights, as the TX gov did, as Cuomo did, and apparently, according to Goodnight's post, the state of AZ tried, as well.

The government does not give us those rights, the government cannot take them away by telling people that they have to sign a fricken oath to Israel to keep their job. That's BS!

This is not just about teachers, all sort of loans and government programs require that people sign that. Israeli lobbyists work hard to pass those laws that affect millions of Americans and they don't even know it.
