Maybe because she is extremely vocal on social media, and often takes to complaining about how people are not treating her fairly. She seems to enjoy dropping verbal bait that leads to people commenting on her posts, which then leads to her commenting on how people comment on her posts, then the media picks it up, etc etc etc. It comes across like immature attention-seeking behavior whenever ANYONE does that ... including our President. So I’ll ask once again: why would response to her social media posts be any different to the response that Trump receives?
Because they defend Trump for all that ridiculous tweeting and his position in DC is far higher than hers on the food chain at the moment.
So, Fox News and their followers think Trump tweeting bomb threats to foreign countries and attacking Saturday Night Live for being "mean" to him is "winning" but a young woman about to enter Congress lamenting the struggles of people who are less fortunate to be able to take time off and take care of themselves is her being a whiny, socialist, liberal, commie, triggered, crybaby, snowflake.
Or something like that.

And progressives defend AOC with the same vehement loyalty now. We are literally arguing two sides of the same coin, which is my entire point: Trump AND AOC are both extremely vocal on social media, and it really fires up their detractors. One is not at all any different than the other, therefore everyone really ought to just shut over the topic of who is picking on who.
The poor little socialist idiot has to take time off for self help before she’s even been sworn in to Congress.
Why do you even care? Do you realize how stupid this sounds? So many people following this woman's every waking moment, they all need to have their heads examined.
She hasn't been sworn in yet. So she's not on the payroll. Who cares...well, except you and the Ocasio-Cortez bashers.
You folks need a new hobby.
Right ... except AOC is the one making a public proclamation of how exhausted and poorly-fed she is and how she needs a break. Those are words from her own mouth. She made them in a public forum, and the public shall reply as is the norm. She began this, not Fox, or Republicans.
She's female, and she gives as good as she gets, with no respect for authority. I note that it's the same folks who love Trump for his outspokenness and disregard for "PC" who are the most outraged by her. It's - interesting.
I'm looking forward to this.
It is a fascinating dynamic.

If Trump was tweeting about how himself and other members of his socioeconomic group struggle to find time to take off because they are workaholics (assuming he actually, you know, was one) I would find that an interesting conversation starter because a good many people in the circles Trump would like to travel and and sometimes is allowed to DO work too much and could use some time unplugged from the corporate world.
So, while I may not want AOC to whine on social media, I do not think the core issue she was discussing lacks merit.
Hell, sometimes, the core issues Trump is trying (poorly, most of the time) to discuss also do not lack merit.
