If a private business wants to fund the wall -- they can.

But this money can't be gifted to the govt. for a specific project. Gifts to the govt. don't work that way.

So it has to be a private entity.

And private entities can't take land under the law of eminent domain right -- will they have to buy the land.....

Oh -- all this common sense garbage getting in the way of the big show of a wall.

How disappointing for some.

$5 million raised so far. That's a 1/2 mile of wall.

What a great idea. Let those that want the wall pay for it out of their own pockets. I have one question though. Where does the money go if not enough funds are raised? Do people get a refund? No I will not be donating.

Good job with the 5 million in 4 days. Now do it 4000 more times. Should only take 16000-20000 days or 40-50+ years at the current rate to raise the 20 Billion needed. Maybe they should ask the Mexican citizens as well since Mexico forgot to pay for the wall.

Oh...and BTW...it's you who needs to "try to keep up"....Trump's original plan was for 2000 miles of wall/fencing/other covering the whole border. That changed when they saw how ludicrous it was to try to attempt that....but it was his original plan:

This is a link (therefore the "quoted part" is from said article in said link):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Fence_Act_of_2006

"In 2016, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump proposed building a border wall "as high as 55 feet" along the U.S.-Mexican border, making the pledge the centerpiece of his campaign.[9] Trump's proposed wall—which he said would consist of 2,000 miles "of hardened concrete, and ... rebar, and steel" across the entire southern border[22] would be much more extensive than the fencing built under the 2006 act."

It certainly does make a difference cost wise. I am well aware of Trump's original plan but that's not the case anymore. He merely want's the 700 mile long wall completed on the most porous areas that congress already passed in 2006. So what's your problem? We don't need a wall on the balance of the border as it is mostly impassable terrain that is very difficult and dangerous to try and cross so fewer will try and fewer will succeed. The Border Patrol can focus their efforts in those areas.

Ha ha. Right wing media played Trump. As expected he angrily reacted to their criticism.

I wanted to be a part of this historic endeavor so just donated a small amount. Wish it could have been more. Hundreds of people donating every minute. Look at the list. You can also be anonymous if you live in a blue state and are afraid of repercussions.

Come on everybody! Join us! It's almost $6M now.

It'll be faster than that after the veteran goes on Fox News tonight with Laura Ingraham and tomorrow on Fox News Business Mornings with Maria. That will really get donations flowing.
