Building a wall on Mexico's southern border will be money well spent.

Knowing how corrupt those Latino governments are I hope there are strings attached to this money. If they can't handle all that cash without dipping their sticky fingers into it, it's a good excuse for Trump to shine a bright light on how he tried to help but they were too corrupt. This was the Dem idea, right?

So that's why we need our own border barriers to keep the hordes out.

If you read the link the OPIC is suppose to not cost American taxpayers anything it is self sustaining. If that is the case and it goes to promote people in S. Mexico and Central America to stay there and create investment opportunities I have no issue with that. The problem is the money will get taken by the powers that be in those places and not do what is intended.

There is a fence and river that separates Mexico from Guatemala. The people that are trying to get into the USA stormed the border and destroyed part of the fence. The Mexican government did little to stop them and assumed they would travel north and soon no longer be their problem but become our problem.

With the US forcing Mexico to take care of these people will prompt Mexico to do a better job at border security with Guatemala. Most Mexican nationals I know don't want these people in their country and want Mexico to stop them at the southern border. Hence all the protests that have gone on in Mexico against these people.

So we are intending to bribe the powers that be with this money?

No money for the wall, bump stocks eliminated, free money to Central America/Mexico...

All that is left to do is tongue-kiss a portrait of Karl Marx and Trump can call it a day.

Now that could be interesting. It would be 3x cheaper to build it there and without the red tape. No political roadblocks and no court injunctions. Mexico won't let the wall climbers lawyers up and be released. They'll be marched right back across.

As libs like to tell us, the illegal immigration isn't coming so much from Mexico anymore (they're all here already) but Central America. If most of the CA migrants are stopped there, the remainder can be mopped up by existing CBP.

Most likely the money will end up in the military/police/politicians so they can have more (US made) weapons, more equipment, technology, jails, hire and train more officers for policing, so people don't try to escape.

I would bet people won't get more jobs like they are promising. Cheap labor and exploration is not going to change; the whole world economy is based on it.
