I don't know why Trump can't just find ONE person who is good and TRY to get along with that person.
Because he is a diagnosable narcissist who truly believes the universe is supposed to revolve first and foremost around him. When it fails to do that, changes must be made.
This guy Mattis appeared to be as close to a perfect Secretary of Defense as our country could ever hope to have. I am really disappointed by this and Trump better bring someone in now with some real chops, or this is not going to go well for him.
Trump's supporters largely regard the TDS afflicted enemies of Trump as pathological liars and deranged loons who are not to be trusted. So, when they come up with whatever their latest scheme is to try to bring Trump down, they roll their eyes and ignore it. But this is the sort of thing that his supporters do care about. He needs to get a handle on this and quickly. Enough is enough.
Good people like Mattis and Kelly were willing to stay as long as they had an opportunity to contain the damage that Trump can do. Caught the end of an interview (working and not at the television so didn't catch the name) speculating this may be more about Trump's "plans" for Afghanistan. Trump running roughshod over the defense apparatus on Syria shows that he's increasingly going rogue. Per the interviewee, Mattis has been working closely with various Afghan factions. He's not willing to stand by and watch what will happen on the ground in Afghanistan as Trump "takes over."
Another POV. Regardless, Trump's tweet that Mattis is "retiring" is laughable, and (really) an insult of sorts.
I'm sure this came out after the stock market closed for a reason.

The thing about Mattis is that everyone respected him. Left, right, non-military, military, etc. He was a guy that EVERYONE pretty much agreed would do a good job. You just dont find much of that in any administration.
They love to invade countries and stay forever.
They are not the old democrat party. They support everything but America and Americans now.
Give it a rest ok, and stop hauling these old talking point from thread to thread.
