Refugees and asylum seekers are often fleeing dangerous, violent communities. They would rather apply for refugee and asylum in the USA then risk their lives.

$5 billion is going to bankrupt our country? Trump asked Mexico to pay for the wall but they refused there is a back up plan down the road but in the meantime we need the funds to get the wall started. There was no lie. Presidents often can't fulfill their promises but because it's Trump......

I'll ask again and yet no lefty in here has responded at all. "Were you and yours, including Pelosi and Schumer as concerned about who was going to pay for the wall back in 2006 when the wall bill was passed"? There was no plan on the table to make Mexico pay for it. It was to be soley the taxpayer. Where was the outrage back then?

Trump, and you, have no clue about the actual cost of the wall. 5 billion won't even be enough for the materials! Educate yourselves!

Further, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’
engineering design review of the prototypes found that construction costs
for the prototype designs would increase as the slope of the terrain
increased. However, Border Patrol did not assess those costs when
prioritizing future locations for barrier deployments. The strategy included
an overall estimate of the cost to construct barriers at Border Patrol’s top
17 priority locations—an estimate of $18 billion for 722 miles of barriers.

However, according to CBP officials, that estimate was based on an
average cost per mile and is not intended to reflect the costs of individual
construction projects. According to DHS officials, the prioritization
methodology was not intended to assess costs but rather to identify
Border Patrol’s operational priorities.

Which is?

Do you think trump would have been elected if he said he would build a wall that costs over 25 billion and would shut down government and tank our economy until he got funding?

Why don't they just take the asylum Mexico offered? Why did they demand $50k a head from the consulate to go back home?

So what?

They want to live here -- and don't feel they will be safer in Mexico.

Let them follow the procedures.

If not -- change the laws.

Building a wall won't stop folks from seeing refugee or asylum via presenting themselves to a border agent...
