Yep. Wouldn't cost us a penny and it would address the root cause. But Trump wants his big, beautiful wall because it feeds his big, ugly ego. That's pretty much the sum of it.
If you want to address root causes we can start with the root cause of the support for the wall - decades of failure to implement any of the alternatives. Trump's call for a wall wouldn't have resonated if past governments, both D and R, had done their jobs. Trump's appeal is as much frustration with swamp Republicans as Democrats.
And at one time Trump was a Democrat who supported Democratic Party mandates.
Things change.
The 2006 fence was not the same financial commitment.
The political climate was different, the implication was different -- it was all different.
You mean that it wasn't Trump that wanted it then, so now you have to oppose it just to spite him or risk looking like a RACIST to your fellow never Trump SJW snowflakes.
5 billion to start the wall. By the time its finished. It will have coat 50+ Billion to have it built. Add in the ongoing cost of maintenance and security. Nope nope nope. Drones flying back and forth with live ammo should do the trick.
Maybe if Democrats were in charge of building it. They can milk a project for huge amounts of money to pay their corruption taxes.
No matter how you put it, Trump is to blame for this shutdown. He said himself that he would be proud to claim it and would not blame Dems. So he owns it. Plain and simple. The Senate passed a resolution to keep the Government funded and REpugs in the house shot I down so I guess they can be blamed too.
Come on, that was last week, Trump changes his mind more times than he changes his underwear, this week it's the Democrats fault!
Call it a ham sandwich if you want, as long as it keep illegals out.
What if it doesn't? The druggies even tunneled under that wall in San Diego. Someone soon will jump in to inform me of tunnel sensors. But they only sense car fumes, not digging the tunnel.
What if people who think like I do that if Law enforcement can read a license plate from a satellite, they also have tools to spot illegals crossing the border?
The problem is the BP cannot get to them. The border patrol is 2000 employees short now.
What if it passes today, when will the lawsuits be settled? We are still months, maybe years away from the wall.
I understand that POC posters are rarely wrong, but, what if?
