As far as the 2A and firearms ownership goes the progressive left has a goal to see citizens disarmed. They justify this position by using criminal misuse of firearms. Actual facts as to exactly where criminals get their weapons don't matter. They cite the school and other mass shootings where some weapons were legally obtained by the shooters and demonize all legal gun owners as time bombs just waiting to spray bullets in public places. Fear and misinformation are their primary tools.

The worst issue we have with criminal use of firearms is use by the street gangs. These varmints are committing "mass shootings" every single day along with thousands of individual murders and random gunfire. And yes, they use "assault rifles" and high capacity handguns to do so. Thing is, they don't get these weapons by stealing from legal gun owners or actually buying them from gun stores as claimed by the gun phobic left in their efforts to tear down the 2A.

The criminal gangs are foot soldiers for the cartels. They are the boots on the ground force acting in the interest of the drug runners and they are supplied by a criminal "government". Their weapons have been smuggled in from overseas and stolen from our very own military and even LE. Their weapons are actual military type with full auto capability. They also have access to explosive devices such as grenades and even such things as RPGs. Not things that civilian owners and gun stores have on hand.

Occasionally there is a news story where LE manages to seize weapons caches from some gang like MS 13. The media crows loudly proclaiming a major victory however very seldom do we hear them say where the seized weapons came from. They want people to assume they were bought at Cabelas. That the weapons are either foreign i.e AK 47s and such, or marked "US Property" never comes out.

The progressive left likes to cite how they are not out to seize our civilian weapons and that they just want "common sense" gun regulation. They proclaim that they don't want to "take away our right to hunt" (as if hunting is the 2As purpose) and that they just want to do away with civilian access to weapons with the ability to "mow down hundreds of people." The fact that one of the worst mass shootings in our history was committed with a three shot bolt action hunting rifle has never been brought up. Nor is the fact that it was civilian gun owners who covered the police so they could get into the structure the latter shooter was in and put an end to him.

I've seen a progressive leftist or two or three or ten on here loudly proclaim that they WILL be coming for our private weapons and that the government is far better armed than we are so we may as well give up and roll over. I don't believe for a second that the progressive lefts agenda with the 2A is any less than repeal and confiscation by force and that threat is being dangled in front of us like someone threatening their dog with a rolled up newspaper. Big middle finger to the progressive and rabid leftists. They can save it for rallies at UC Berserkly.

It probably will, then when NY loses ANOTHER seat in the House they will scratch their heads wondering WHY so many NYes are continually moving out of the state.

All the tax incentives to companies trying to attract them to relocate there will be money wasted because the PEOPLE will NOT want to move to the state.
It's not just about guns why people are leaving, it's the entire Leftist/Socialist ideology. The "takers" have outnumbered the "makers" and the middle class ends up paying for it as usual. Getting the hell out of that s**thole was thee best decision we ever made.

One of the best essay's I've ever read regarding that:
Quote:
The debate over gun control can be summed up thusly: Those of us who don't like guns in the hands of our non-costumed brethren, will vote to ensure men with guns, under the guise of the "law," will come and take the property that is rightfully yours, killing you should you resist our will sufficiently.

This is what we call "violence by-proxy" and makes the voter for violence no less culpable in the extortion and death that will ensue.

As Stefan Molyneux correctly observed; if a person claims they are non-violent and are for “gun control” they are not truly anti-gun nor are they non-violent people - because the reality is that guns and violence will be needed to disarm innocent law abiding people.

This is because those people who claim they are anti-gun and anti-violence, who claim to support “gun control,” will need the credible threat of police violence and the police’s guns to take away other people’s guns should they resist the attempt to further centralize their monopoly on violence.

So those who claim to be anti-gun and anti-violence are really very pro-gun and very pro-violence. They ultimately believe that only government officials (which are of course portrayed as reliable, honest, moral, and virtuous) should be allowed to have guns. This obviously flies in the face of reality as the 20th century has proven once and for all.

It’s important to note that those who advocate this type of centralized monopoly of violence do so as cowards, because it’s not their lives
on the line, rather they advocate others using violence on their behalf in
order to force their misguided views on innocent people who wish to do nothing other than protect themselves and other innocents.

There is no such thing as "gun control," there is only centralizing gun ownership in the hands of a small, political class and the forces they control which, as recent history has proven is a murderous nightmare for the peace loving, disenfranchised, and disarmed citizenry.--Ron Danielowski

I was NOT claiming it was the ONLY reason.
