Somewhere in the contractor's hadnbook there are charts that would give you what it costs to build one mile of border wall andhow long it takes to. I remember listening to an interview by a construction company who said they actually pour the wall on site and gave a pretty good picture of how long it takes to put up one mile of the wall. He was very upbeat and portratyed a project that was eminently doable.

Haven't they said 20-25 billion for the whole thing? Mind you, construction projects rarely come in an budget. And that GFM site isn't sniffing an actual billion dollars

At $20 billion Trump's magnificent wall will cost $10 million per mile.

Are you speaking of a wall along the entire border because that no longer is Trump's plan and hasn't been for some time now. The wall is the one approved by congress back in 2006 and it's only for 700 miles.

It depends on the terrain and location. It will run anywhere from $5M-$25M per mile. There are many more miles of flat land than harsh terrain. Let's just average is equally.

$15M per mile

15,000,000/1,000,000,000 = 67 miles

5B x 67 = 335 miles.

The entire 5B isn't going toward the wall though.

As for projects coming in over budget, Trump has a knack for getting them done well under budget.

DING DING DING

That would be the fence (wall) all the Dems voted for before they were against it. They have voted for walls for 40 years fully intending not to build them. The Republican fools keep falling for the same trick (lie) every time.

One of the most used memes that I find hilariously misguided are these Dems saying "if we build a 10-foot wall they'll just bring an 11-foot ladder".

Good luck using a ladder!

The costs will be far lower now they he will be using a slotted base with concrete toppers. That would be a fence with a wall on the top

Are we talking about you and I, people that are forced to live within their means on a budget or are we talking about the Government that has no issue in spending our money?

When it comes to the wall I am sure there will be endless feasibility studies, environmental impact research, permits and near endless red tape and the list goes on and on. Just look at any big government backed project and there are overruns, graft, payouts, payoffs etc etc..

If there is a man that can get it done it is Trump. Here is an example of him getting something done when NYC couldn't. https://www.forbes.com/sites/offwhit.../#34ba14672fc8

Lol. A contactor trying to secure a billion dollar government contract thinks the project is eminently doable? Thanks for the laugh at least.

$5 billion won’t even take care of the cost associated with the acquisition of mostly private border land.

It will takes years to work through the eminent domain- appeal- condemnation- appeal process.

$1 Billion gets you about half of the Carolina Panthers. Or it did last year anyway.
