I live in California in general Hispanic families are more cohesive than White-Americans who just plain and simple don't look out for there families as much they'e a hell of a lot more selfish. The other thing is we have a ton of homeless out here arrived by hopping on a train to leave the cold weather states because of the mild winters in California and quite a bit of churches etc. give out free food in CA unlike where they come from.

African Americans make up more than 40% of the homeless population, but represent 13 percent of the general population.

American Indians/Alaska Natives, Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, and those of more than one race each make up less than 5 percent of the general population. But each group’s share of the homeless population is more than double their share of the general population.

The proportion of Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders in the homeless population (1.3 percent) is 6.5 times higher than their proportion in the general population (0.2 percent).

Those identifying as Hispanic make up 18 percent of the general population but 21 percent of the homeless population.

Both Whites and Asians are significantly underrepresented among the homeless population.

Illegals are eligible for much fewer, if any, social programs than citizens & legal residents... but we don't see Hispanic or illegal-alien tent cities.
Most, if not all, are white American tent cities not with newcomers,

I guess you weren't aware of this but most of those homeless white Americans in California ARE newcomers to California who have arrived as homeless people from other states that are poorer and colder in winter than California. Most of the homeless people residing up and down the entire west coast (including in Canada) are homeless citizens from all other states/provinces in more eastern regions in both countries. People who are homeless logically will migrate (if they can) to warmer locations that are easier to survive in without worrying so much about freezing to death outside.

The more important question you should be asking is "why are there so many homeless people in America". Period.

White WASPS, eh? You've interviewed them and found out that they are of Anglo-Saxon and Protestant background?

No. You couldn't be more mistaken. Here is the demographic snapshot from the 2018 homeless count in LA County: 75% of the homeless lived in LA County before becoming homeless and 65% of the homeless in the county lived there for more than 20 years.

California's unemployment rate is at record lows.

The "lump of labor" fallacy was debunked well over 100 years ago. The number of jobs in the economy is not fixed. Immigration increases the size of the economy. I am not endorsing illegal immigration but you are really grasping at straws when the labor market is so tight.

So why are more of them homeless?
Because there are more white people period. Hispanics have a plurality in the state but the largest racial group is still white. Many homeless people are mentally ill and/or addicted to drugs or alcohol--how would you expect them to apply for government programs when they can barely function?
