First of all, no one knows exactly what rule the wrestler violated. There are guidelines for hair length in the wrestling rule book, but clearly the wrestler's dreadlocks did not violate any of them (for you sticklers out there who like to stick to the rule books with absolutely no exceptions).
Second, where were the wrestler's teammates and his coach? No one wants to stand up for him?
I am usually one to say let's hear all of the facts (and we still should), but the referee is already tainted having used the N word against another ref in the past.
I was appalled by this as I watched the pics on TV and could only hope I misunderstood something or the case was misrepresented. If this was as presented, I cannot imagine why the coach, school administrator, parents, audience and others stood by and did nothing. IMO, this was reprehensible and went way beyond logic, common sense or human decency.
Funny how nobody cared when they had to get their hair cut when I was in high school because the RULES said you had to. But now we're going to make this a racial issue naturally.
