They are far from what the perception of what "white" translates to here. If Jesus existed, he likely looked like an Arab as opposed the blue eyed fair haired depiction that is ubiquitous.
I was hanging out in a bar in Budapest with some Israelis and they said they considered themselves to be white Europeans...seriously, aren't the people of that region Caucasians or if not, what?
What about the problem that Palestinians are Muslim these days, and Jesus was Jewish?
Islam happened long after that time - one does not change skin color or ethic background due to religious changes like these.
In other words, a "Jew" from the middle east who wasn't high up in the hierarchy and who either claimed no religion or "went along to get along" would likely have been converted to Islam later (at the point of a sword)...or to Christianity in a similar fashion (inquisitions and burnings at the stake and many other such actions forced many to choose)....
Egyptians of the ancient days were quite dark. Those from the Palestine region came from Egypt and elsewhere in N. Africa, although they would have likely mixed with the people to the west and north.
I'd say "brown" - in that sense. Certainly not a Euro or Ruskie-type Caucasian.

Australians don't look aboriginal, do they? Israel is country of immigrants; mainly from Easter Europe. If you want to know what the people in that region looked like before getting kicked out by Israel look for pictures of Gaza.
The US government for data purposes counts Middle Easterners as white.
Palestinian. Made up term for people living in Israel.
