Sadly this won’t be a deterrent. More parents will happily send their kids to America to exploit immigration loopholes

Look up Flores Settlement of 1997 and you will get your answer. You can blame ACLU for that

Oh, i didn't know US's immigration policy needs to be mirror America's hat.

One news site that I think that I and many other people should use more often is called AllSides. Here is a sample of what a headline looks like: "Trump Makes Surprise Visit to Iraq, Defends Syria Policy".

The following are how a Right-, Center-, and Left-leaning news source would spin the above headline:
Right-"Trump makes surprise trip to Iraq to visit with troops, says US intends to stay" (Washington Examiner)
Center-"Trump defends Syria pullout during surprise visit to Iraq" (Reuters)
Left-"Trump makes first trip to Iraq as president" (Politico)

I heard this fact on an nbc affiliate earlier. They actually stated that on local evening news.

Second, I can't help wondering if things weren't made clear to the parents, or if the parents may have thought that their "captors" were so bad that they didn't trust the offers of help.

Third, even if the story is true, I hope you don't think that justifies everything that went before.
Just pathetic

Because other than healthcare, metric speed signs and guns, most people can't tell the difference between Montana and Alberta, Washington and B.C, or Maine and New Brunswick once they cross the border either way. We talk the same, we watch the same shows, we have mostly the same stores, we celebrate mostly the same holidays.

This thread isn't about how awful America is; it's about how awful the media is.

Actually, let me correct myself: we get the media we deserve. And since there are tens and tens of millions of Americans like Clarallel---people who desperately want to be deceived---then that's exactly the kind of media we get. A lying one.

I guess they are just giving the people what they want.

Allowing human traffickers to take advantage of our lax laws is causing the deaths of many people, illegals and Americans. This has happened for decades yet was seldom reported. Now that Trump has shined a light on the rats the media thinks he caused it.

Perhaps it’s time for the Dimocrates to stop enticing these people to come here with their sanctuary cities, entitlement programs ,drivers licenses and the like. They’re getting people killed.... including children.
