"The fascism most to be feared is the fascism sailing under false colors. Such a type of fascism will be the worse for the duplicity of its leaders, and much of the blame will attach to those soft-thinking liberal leaders who have sought to make of fascism a synonym for all that is socially iniquitous instead of a descriptive for a rational and workable social scheme to which they happen to be opposed."
Written by Lawrence Dennis in 1936, this quote (often incorrectly attributed to Churchill) is an eerily correct prediction about the ANTIFA movement in the US and the evolution of adopting violence and intimidation by the American left. Sadly, the left of today fails to appreciate that they have evolved into what they have purported to hate. As has been the case in the balance of world history, violence and supression of human rights comes from the left; all the while, we are conditioned to look over our shoulder to the right for a danger coming from a different direction.

On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.

Is the the same old ridiculous fairyland doublespeak about how Fascism is really a "left wing" movement?
Was total garbage then, remains total garbage now.
If this makes you feel better, blaze on. Just don't expect anyone with a brain to buy it. I am sure there are many "plain folks of the land" as Mencken described (see above) that will lap this up no questions asked.

Both the left and right have features of facism. Since you're in denial that it couldn't possibly be the left, well, here you go:
exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition
let's see....nationalism? not so much
Race above individual? Absolutely. ie) they just canceled the womens march for being too white. Criticisms leveled at candidates for not having enough of the right color people.
Centralized govt? Well the left definitely has major national power initiatives like universal healthcare, one-size fits all cost of living nationally minimum wage and so forth.
Dictatorial leader? I'll call that one a tie. Both sides want more presidential power but only when it's their guy in office.
I can continue but if you look down the bullet points from a non-partisan angle, you see how both the far left and far right hit at least some of them.
“But he saw too that in America the struggle was befogged by the fact that the worst Fascists were they who disowned the word ‘Fascism’ and preached enslavement to Capitalism under the style of Constitutional and Traditional Native American Liberty.”

Are you surprised an opponent of the UK liberal party would tried to associate the UK liberals with fascism?
You are too easily fooled.
Trying to associate your opponent with something negative is, and had always been, a very basic political tactic. Practically all politicians from all parties around the globe do the same.

Agreed-
Villifying those with differing views, rather than logically debating the issues, has always been a staple of political discourse.
However, it is frightening that the modern left seems to be blind to history and has embraced the very same tactics of violence and intimidation of elements they presume to condemn. Take a moment and conduct an inventory of the terms reflexively used by the left, such as "racist" and "fascist"; these are "buzz words" that have lost their original meaning and are used as a response to any ideas opposed to hard line liberalism.

That's just what Lewis said a fascist trying to deny he's a fascist would say. They're not buzzwords, and many actions of the alt-right are clearly fascist and racist. That they're being called on it, and it makes you uncomfortable, doesn't mean it isn't insidious and isn't happening.
