The last time the Republicans presented an e-verify bill it was the Democrats who voted it down.

Your posts are consistent...Unhappily wrong. Or perhaps you do not read what you cite?

From your cite...

******************************
But Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) argued that this e-verify provision was in the Senate’s broad immigration bill that passed a year ago, and said Democrats aren’t looking to negotiate passage of sections of that bill.

“We are not going to take that bill apart piece by piece, as the senator from Alabama suggests,” Durbin said. “I object.”
******************************

So as is well known the 2013 Immigration bill failed because the Republican leadership would not allow it to come to a vote in the House. And the reason they would not allow a vote was because it would have passed.

I understand he owns this golf course and that he visits it often, that still doesn't mean that Billionaire/US President Donald Trump was down in some basement office cranking out fake SS cards for illegal aliens.
The good news is that, if we made employers liable for illegals being hired through third parties, then the natural consequence for that would be for employers to shy away from hiring from third parties.

You see, I knew we could come to a happy medium.
Problem solved.

But then we know that was never the problem either.
It was a loophole to legally hire illegals.

You know it, I know it.

Apparently they handed out fake Green Cards and Social Security Numbers to the illegals they hired. This may also explain why there hasn't been a push by Trump for e-verify.

If Trump authorized this then he is in a world of hurt.

Perhaps you're confused, I haven't in any way disagreed with you on anything you've said. I simply want all aspects of illegal immigration addressed, not just the employment aspect. Employment is not the only reason illegal aliens come to this country. E-verify and employer fines aren't going to do anything to stop the flow of people who come here illegally for the sole purpose of having a child and taking advantage of birthright citizenship to get a foot in the door. Fine employers heavily, create a mandatory e-verify system and connect it to the IRS so that everyone and anyone working in this is working legally and build a big F'n wall to deter the overwhelming majority of illegal crossings by criminals who want to come here for whatever reason.

Do you agree?

More stupid threads from The Stoopid Left, who is spring loaded to believe anything about Trump and to promote the story..

“We have tens of thousands of employees across our properties and have very strict hiring practices. If any employee submitted false documentation in an attempt to circumvent the law, they will be terminated immediately,” the Trump Organization wrote in a statement to multiple news outlets.
I doubt if the actions of someone so far down the chain of command that he never actually met Trump is going to "bring him down".
Sorry, NeverTrumpers.

We can and have made employers responsible.

See here is the problem I have.
They want to make it legal to keep the cheap labor coming, but keep the riffraff out that costs them money.

Which is like I said.

Keep the slave labor coming, just keep the things out that costs me money.

It has zero to do with helping workers and 100% to do with providing cheap labor and keeping the things that cost business and government money!

How about we do away with legal importation of labor, H1B and so on.

Oh, oh, no we could not do that, because then employers would have to raise wages to compete for labor.

When you have a surplus of workers, everyone is forced to compete for jobs. Tough Luck - That is Capitalism.
When you have a surplus of jobs, oh, we need to bring in foreign workers, help us please government, we do not want to raise wages to compete for workers nor die! Here is some money mr politician on your campaign to remember us.

Yes employers know who they are hiring.

Or they choose not to know.

But it is on them.
