It still stands that if this woman was afraid for her life, she could have asked for asylum in Mexico.
We have Americans who live in gang infested neighborhoods and live in fear. We have Americans who are victims of domestic violence. In some areas, LGBT people still have to fear being attacked. If you think otherwise, then you are either naive or willfully ignorant. Do some googling. Hate crimes against LGBT people still happen in this country.

In the last 2 years multiple children have died in the governments custody while Trump ran this and his administration started taking MUCH larger numbers of kids. Under Obama in 8 years? ZERO.

In the disturbing and sad case of the most recent child death ... this child’s father admitted that the child was ill when they embarked on their long 1000+ mile journey to the US border, including the fact that the child didn’t receive adequate water for days. If a parent in the US were to demonstrate such negligence that directly led to the death of their child, they’d very likely face criminal charges, and jail time. So the primary responsibility lands squarely with the parents, with a measure of responsibility on those who encourage illegals to come here! Based on what has been reported, there could be additional culpability on the part of the hospital that treated and released this child, rather than continuing to treat the child until it was medically safe to do so. The very idea that Border Patrol, ICE, or Trump is responsible, is pure unhinged insanity.

On average around 1600 American children die every year in foster care, that includes the years that Obama was in office, and Clinton, and Bush and Bush Sr... where's the outrage for those kids?

The Texas Tribune has an interesting article; Trump Administration preparing to shelter migrant children on Texas military bases. It goes on to describe that border agents arrested more than 100,000 illegal border crossers in March and April. It's an old article from May, but it illustrates the numbers coming here out of desperation for work and asylum. When you have large populations of people flooding your borders there are going to be casualties. You can turn it into a political football or you can work to deal with it. These deaths are just a victim of circumstance.
One question though. Trump is threatening to shut down the southern border. If he can do that then why does he need the wall? Can he stop everyone from entering or leaving on the southern border?

What kind of question is this? When talking about shutting down the border, he’s talking about the legal official ports of entry. OBVIOUSLY, the same unsecured areas currently exploited by illegals will still exist without securing them with walls.
Now if you would like to ask how shutting down the legal ports of entry might help the situation ... I believe this is a not so subtle call to Mexico to do more to secure their side of the border, and prevent these large groups from reaching and breaching our border. It’s an incentive ... given that shutting down the border effects commerce $$$ ... money talks.
You wouldn't flee violence to save your kids but others choose to do just that.
That’s just getting very old .... tired, and worn out ....
Mexico has offered asylum to scores of these supposed victims .... and most have refused. Their intent is obviously not to attain safe haven from violence .... but to gain access into the United States.
