No, the recession reduced incentives for illegal immigration. Funny how you chose 2007 - 2011 lol.

You also know that if they haven't paid the coyote in full, once they sneak in the country, they are taken to holding houses and forced to stay there until the coyote gets his money. AZ has had big problems with these holding houses. Some years back, they found one where 125 illegals were crammed in there.

It's bad enough that adults hire these coyotes to get them across but some POS parents pay a coyote (a total stranger to them) to sneak their kids into the US. Some of these kids get raped by the coyotes or they end up being trafficked.

Individual 1 AKA the president of the US doesn't give a darn about a wall except to please his base.
Does he care at all about those who aren't getting paid like the air traffic controllers, etc? NO
He doesn't care, it's all his spoiled bully attitude like holding his breath to get what he wants. He is harming our country & he doesn't even have a real plan. Shame on him and Lindsey Graham & Mitch Mcconnell . If Trump bent over these two would disappear they follow him so closely.

The northern border has been addressed before. I think you know the answer to your own question, so why are you asking?

We don't have caravans consisting of thousands of Canadians trying to cross and demanding amnesty. Nor do the Canadians get caravans of Americans demanding the same of them. As I heard a pundit say once, "Canada takes care of its people." They enjoy a high standard of living.

If the Canadians feel the need for a wall, they can put one up and vice versa.

Again I'm all for quoting verbatim, getting things right, in their proper context, but "sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."

Not sure anyone needs context to understand what Trump was saying along with so many others who have used the wall analogy to suggest that sometimes when we come across a wall, we simply need to find a way to punch through it or get around it when the goal really means that much to us. Obviously for people trying to escape extreme poverty, violence and worse as the vast majority of these people are trying to do, the goal is compelling. Add the element of family, the inherent goal that parents have to provide safety and opportunity for their kids, and it takes quite a wall indeed to keep them from coming one way or another...

Call them rapists, drug-dealing criminals as Trump prefers to do, perhaps also subject to context or translation far as you are concerned, but we're not all THAT stupid.

Not sure why the wall continues to be such the focus, to the tune of shutting down our government no less, when we all know about half of illegal aliens are in America after getting visas to be here legally and letting them expire. Trump trying to suggest the wall is some sort of panacea for our immigration policy problems is why we are focused on the wall instead of our real immigration policy problems. Not to mention all the other important and serious issues that really would help Americans in direct tangible ways. Works for Trump supporters though, because the symbol of the wall is a lot easier to rally behind instead of tackling the more difficult issues, and of course the fear mongering works well for Trump supporters too.

PS: I will always believe it is important to convey the truth instead of some sort of propaganda driven version of the truth, but when it becomes so obvious we're only interested in the truth as it suits our politics and utterly dismissive of the falsehoods when it suits our politics, at what point do we all need to simply accept that the truth simply doesn't matter any more?

Seems it might have been the point we made Trump POTUS, because no one exemplifies this utter lack of integrity that Trump has brought to the White House.

Do the democrats care all about those who aren't getting paid like air traffic controllers, etc? NO They don't care about Americans who are suffering because they put illegals first and foremost. They are harming their own country and they don't even have a plan. Shame on them!

Trump “owns” the shutdown. Quit whining about Democrats and shifting blame.
