Ah, not true. We also patrolled the Czech border in those days as did the Russians. People from the East tried anything and everywhere to get out. The main difference was that the East Germans and Russians were very serious about border crossings. And for the most part , they prevailed.
Serious to the point that execution of a border crosser was acceptable. Is that what you are advocating?
NO. Dems and 70% of America know it’s all smoking mirrors at a very high cost. A wall will stop nothing as long as we hire the illegals and snort their drugs. Big money controls a lot more than the average Joe comprehends - ps. More illegals now jumping through Canada. - than the southern border

The biggest negative to me is that it will keep a few native animals from migrating using their natural paths.

You know damn well it isn't what he was saying, yet you couldn't help yourself.
Pelosi was just playing politics when saying it's immoral. But her point was, it sends the wrong message to the world. We do not welcome immigrants as in, you build a wall, it's a negative action, not positive. Positive action would be: immigration reform to speed up the immigration process, iron out kinks, grant citizenship with less hoops, charge less for the paperwork, etc...
That doesn't mean we need "open borders" as the conservatives would like you to think that's what Democrats support. Walls are kinda an old idea. We have thermal cameras and drones nowadays which would be far more cost effective and easily used by border patrol to detect illegal crossings than building a wall. And you should ask yourself why is the focus on only Mexico? Why not also the Canadian border? That's also a border too you know.
Why do we need to make immigration easier?

Just because we don't let in enough to keep the Democrat voting base reproducing doesn't mean that our system is "broken".
Here's a clue:
It's not supposed to be quick and easy to become an American citizen.
It's something.....like anything worthwhile, that you have to put in your time and WORK FOR.
We welcome plenty of LEGAL immigrants.
And It's only Mexico at this point because that's where most illegals are coming in from.
Canadians don't live in a third world country and aren't breaking down the doors to get into America.
East Germany built a wall and it was pretty damn effective ! Those that tried to scale that wall were shot.
So you think there'll be enough armed guards on our wall compared to the Berlin Wall? And at what time do we stop being the country we have always been? At what time do we turn into Berlin?

Hilarious isn't it how these same people keep parroting that the wall is too expensive and would be ineffective when I have posted several links proving otherwise. Even links from the Border Patrol and Homeland Security agree with that. Yet they still remain in denial. Brain damage perhaps? Why would congress have passed the wall bill back in 2006 in the first place if it weren't cost effective and proven to work?
I have also stated that not all illegals are coming here to work, thus the wall. Hilarious also to claim that there are now more illegals coming through our northern border then our southern one. Where's the link proving that stupid claim?
Nancy Pelosi called a border wall "immoral and sends the wrong message about who we are".
So.....what's so "immoral" about wanting to protect your borders?
How Dems can say things like this while expecting us to believe that they aren't endorsing de facto open borders must really take a special kind of stupid.
I can't speak for the genocidal sociopath known as Nancy Pelosi but for those against violence you can't arbitrarily restrict freedom of movement of an individual unless you rightfully own the land they wish to cross.
Only individuals can own land because only individuals have rights.
I thought that was silly of her, and is not going to gain supporters.
