Turkey is not the U.S.A. How many people go to Turkey and over stay their visa's? How many jobs are waiting in Turkey for migrant workers? Turkey has a problem with migrants trying to leave to go to Europe. Read Politico: Europe's migrants, Turkey's problem.

"Closing the migrant escape valve provoked an unexpected event in this beach resort........." Turkey has cracked down on asylum seekers leaving for Europe. For now the crackdown appears to be working. The number of refugees crossing illegally from Turkey to Greece is down to 400 a day from it's peak of 6,800 last October."

I guess a border wall would be effective if our residents were trying to escape too. Maybe we should study what kind of deal Greece made with Turkey to give them the incentive to stop the migrants. It would be cheaper than a wall that doesn't cover the entire border and hurts American's in the process.

-----------
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in 2009 that construction of hundreds of miles of fencing along the southern border made the border "far more secure" because it created a "significant barrier to illegal immigration."

Schumer made the remarks while addressing the 6th Annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference at Georgetown University about the seven principles he said were the basis of an immigration reform package that he wanted to pass.

"The first of these seven principles is that illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple," Schumer said. "When we use phrases like 'undocumented workers,' we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose."

"People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally," Schumer continued. "Any immigration solution must recognize that we must do as much as we can to gain operational control of our borders as soon as possible."

Like all politicians these douchbags flip flop around and take the current political temperature and also take whatever the big corporate donors and 1 percenters marching orders are of the day.

These guys are all scumbags. I'm surprised more people don't drag these guys out into the streets and given them the Gaddafi treatment at times.

How did Schumer shut down the government? Schumer and the Democrats passed the Senate budget unanimously (also unanimously approved by the Republicans) and sent it over to the House where Paul Ryan and Mark Meadows refused to let if come to vote. Then the House sent a budget to the Senate (which they acknowledged would fail) and that bill never came to a vote because the Republicans didn't even have enough Republicans on board to get it out of committee or bring it to the floor.

Is this one also immoral and racist? Or is it only racist when Trump wants to stop illegals?

Constructed by Spain, its stated purpose is to stop illegal immigration and smuggling.

Schumer could reopen the government in 60 seconds if he wanted to.

Because that's NOT a question.

That's your pitiful attempt to shift the conversation, since you're losing.

Don't pretend that no one sees your strawman.

The Syria–Turkey barrier is a wall and fence under construction along the Syria–Turkey border aimed at preventing illegal crossings and smuggling from Syria into Turkey.

Just like Trump's wall....... the purpose is to stop illegal immigration and it's working.

Nice try. You refuse to support border security only because Trump supports it.

It's not about the wall. It's about border security.
