I'm repeating myself here but like I said they mostly shut up about it. Without it being rubbed in people's faces, and largely ignored, it both neutered the protests and stalled out the momentum behind the boycotts. And for a while there they were showing the anthem more often so they could show who was protesting and who wasn't. I'm glad they've thought better of it. Directly antagonizing the core of your fan base is not smart business.
I don't know what channel you watch, but the Sunday games start broadcasting at kickoff, so there are no anthems. That has always been the case, or at least as far back as I can remember. Monday Night Football is different, and they show it, and maybe Thu night too. During the pre-season they showed it, and all the kneelers too. It is what it is. As soon as Trump stopped talking about, all his followers did too, and just watched football.
Yes. Thank you Trump for failing to further politicize our favorite pastime. Thank you for keeping your mouth shut about it this season, so your followers kept theirs shut too.
they took the platform away from the kneelers. i do think its helped.
If one was boycotting because of the kneelers how would one know the kneeling stopped (or perhaps didn't) if it was no longer telecasted? If you were boycotting you wouldn't know.
That is true. Do they even kneel anymore? Who knows because the NFL got wise not to show it.
When the Panthers signed Eric Reid this season, that was all people were wondering. Would he kneel? First game, he knelt. Charlotte TV stations were tweeting it out during the game. They led the news with it that day. And..... no one apparently cared. There were some people commenting on the Facebook site of the radio home of the Panthers about it, but not a lot. The story went away. I have o idea if he knelt before any other games.

It does seem there have been better games this season than last. Anytime Pittsburgh loses is a good game though!

I'd like to think that the story went away because people realized they were played.

That's surprising. I would have thought it was that crazy Rams-Chiefs game, but I guess folks had turkey coma and parked in front of the TV.

The dude is crazy good and exciting to watch. Since the Panthers laid an egg the second half of the season, I think I am pulling for KC this year.
Never thought I would see liberals defending football.
That's not what this is about.
You totally misunderstood -- lol.
The whole protest wouldn't have had much traction if Trump hadn't stepped in the doo doo. He creates chaos of things that don't need chaos.

Not everybody commenting on this thread are liberals but thanks for playing.
