What if the strike goes on another month, two months, three months?
Pension of not, they'll NEED INCOME.

Tell me again that 98% will continue working.

If they quit, pensions go bye bye, other than vested $. Most stay for that reason. Plus creditors will be patient as they know they will get paid-unless they quit..

Trumps proposal is in line with democrats refusing to offer a penny for the wall.

Trump isn’t going to budge on this. Democrats are afraid to set a precedent by letting Trump get what he wants and Trump is afraid to set a precedent by letting Democrats get their way.

Sit tight, this shutdown could last for several months

It’s nice to see free food given out to federal employ all over the country. Americans take care of each other

Why? It's because any republican that makes an attempt to secure the border and put an end to illegal immigration, the dems go on the attack fighting off any attempt to rid this country of illegals. Not only that, they fight any attempt to reduce legal immigration. That's what is "pathetic".

BTW, we allow into this country on an annual basis 1 million legal immigrants per year. How long do you think allowing in such large numbers is sustainable? How much is too much for you? A population of 1 billion? India has over 1 billion people and Bangalore doesn't have enough potable water. Is such a future what you want for the US? I would think that since all you dems claim to care about the environment, you would realize that fewer people allowed into the country is the far better solution when it comes to protecting our natural resources.

These desperate moves by Trump in the last few weeks signal he's searching for a way out while saving face. He is upset that the country is blaming him, and now he angered his base by offering amnesty to illegals. This is a no-win situation for him. Even he seems to realize it. Heh.

Trump sure has ridden himself right into a box canyon. And the only way out is not to his liking.

One of his greatest flaws (among the many) is his inability to figure out what the future results will be from an action. He just lives in the moment and seems to think that things will work out well for him no matter what.

I understand that his 35% are with him no matter what. But I still have hopes that the 65% will at some point push Congress to work out a deal, take it to Trump with the understanding that a veto will be overridden and get the country back on track.

Having served in the US Coast Guard, it really saddens me how they are being treated in this mess. And even more disheartening is the way that so many people feel toward them and other federal workers. I realize that Trump is one of those people who is only concerned with himself and is unable to feel empathy toward others. I just didn't realize how many other Trumps there were around.
