They were for a fence that was nowhere near the scale Trump describes.

Right now it would appear both measures may not have enough support to pass the Senate....

It’s not as black n white like you portray it. But that’s been explained 1 zillion times, and trumpettes are like broken records. Thank God got off the Hillary replay!
This has become a such a farce and embarrassment around the world! The embassies handing out IOU notices to the local electric and waters companies and so forth- world wide ! But not a surprise as we know who doesn’t like to pay thier bills and gets sued all the time. Past ridiculous ! And I am anti stupid wall pro everify and pro immigration reform with intel, manpower and technilogy being the main border control.

The only hypocrite is Trump who fooled you and his base into believing Mexico was going to pay for the Wall then switched and now is holding the country hostage with his shutdown for his pet project that over half of Americans doesn't want.

The endless investigation has nothing to do with the shutdown, not sure why it’s even being talked about on this page. The democrats have a personal hatred of Trump and will oppose the wall (a big reason for his election) at all costs even if it is good policy for the country. There are many reasons to beef up security on the southern border while not so many reasons not to. Trump isn’t one to backdown from a fight and takes his campaign promises seriously, hence the stalemate.

I don’t see an end anytime soon, barring someone in congress finding a genius compromise to break the gridlock. Right now there is only one side that will not negotiate
