No it's not--at all. We are talking about a single out of the 4 branches of government (giving the legislative branch two counts here due to separate elections for the house/senate)

2 of those 4 branches are elected by us, the citizens of the states to represent us, the states.
1 of those branches is selected by the sitting President
1 of those branches is currently selected by MOB RULE of 48 of the 50 states.

All we're asking is to change the MOB RULE of 48/50 states to MOB RULE of the entire country. Or, if that won't pass, remove MOB RULE all together and require each state to allocate the electoral votes equally to the candidates based on their state's votes - meaning a state that had 8 votes that got 55% Trump would go 5 EC votes to Trump and 3 EC votes to Hillary.

Every vote needs to count. Why are you against having every vote count in a federal election?

Interesting that the Democrats want that system here now.
Almost every other western country has their leader elected by popular vote.

The EC was established as a vetting process so that a group of selected stakeholders could pass judgement on the election winners. The founding fathers had limited faith in this new election process and wanted a safety net. When it was established, we did not have political parties that go through the same process with primaries and caucuses. The candidates are now examined relentlessly and vetted through the party system but we still have the EC throwing a wrench into the process. It is time to dispose of the 18th century device in favor of direct election. Now, the party system is flawed because of money being thrown into the race in ever-increasing amounts. We need to have an amendment that will impose limits on spending as well as eliminating the EC.

This is not an issue of the states.

Please share with us the section that dictates policy on presidential election vote allocation.

Merely putting it into writing wouldn't violate the Constitution.

Poor dear. Go read the 10th Amendment.
“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
The Constitution is clear how the President is chosen. By State Elections. The Congress can't pass a law to dictate how the States choose their electors.

Nope. Constitution is clear why they can't.

You've been busted. But if you want to did the hole further, be my guest.

The only way to change it, is to amend the US Constitution.

Sorry I cant rep you again Pilot1

The dumbocrap party is becoming more and more Socialist. How well is Socialism and Communism working out for other countries.

I told some friends New Year's eve that I am so glad that I am at this end of lifespan and not starting over as a college student over 50 years ago. I only hope that the United States I know remains close to the same until I die

I feel so sorry for my children and grand children
