Agree and I hope that you care as much for the antisemite NAZIs that support and are part of the Right. Both sides have their crazy extremes and to act like it’s only one side is being at best naive

It could create haters out of people who wouldn't have been otherwise. Fortunately, I'm mature and wise enough to be able to distinguish between Zionists and other Jews.

And btw, I totally agree with your OP, it is disturbing what that representative did. Almost as disturbing as the video I saw of Muslims in Dearborn, MI who had a huge either painting on the side of a building or some type of tapestry that hung down the side of it, as they had men at least ten deep in a huge circle hitting their chests with one hand as they chanted. The painting or tapestry was a painting of the decapitated head of Jesus with his eyes mostly closed and blood dripping from his neck.

The good news is that when people do awful things like that they expose their true beliefs. And Democrats are digging a hole for themselves that will hurt them in the 2020 election cycle if enough of our voting populace is paying attention.
Did someone say something earlier about dog whistles?

You sound reasonable, but your comment about "Zionist Jews who want to control everything," such as the entertainment and news industries, does step right into conspiracy talk about Jews controlling everything. (The latest was some antisemite politician in Washington, DC blaming Jews for a snowstorm.) Do you not see how your comment plays right into antisemitic conspiracy talk? (Although clearly you yourself are not, and I don't mean to imply that.)

Also, it depends on the use of the word "Zionist." Many take it to mean support of aggressors who occupy land in an effort to expand the borders. I go with the original definition, and that is the right for Israel to exist and a state of Jewish self-determination (given the worldwide persecution Jews have suffered).

As far as the rest of your post, we agree. I also knew nothing about the Detroit Muslims hanging a painting of decapitated Jesus. That is horrible and disgusting,

Yes, but the crazies on the right are well covered by liberal media. It's important that bigotry be exposed on both sides.

Catgirl, I called him out in that particular comment. Plays right into antisemitic conspiracy theories. I'm glad you caught it too.

Escorted by Dearborn police, thousands marched from Fordson High School along the sidewalk to nearby Ford Woods Park. Some gathered in circles to rhythmically sway their arms and tap their chests while chanting religious tributes called latmiya. Many waved large flags that fluttered, carrying tributes and depictions of Imam Hussain and the battles he led.

Various signs at the rally read: "Muslims Stand Against ISIS," "Muslims Against Terror," and "Live Free or Die with Dignity!!." Other signs criticized racism and police abuse, with one large banner reading "In Solidarity With the Victims of Police Brutality." And some signs called for the release of Shia leaders held captive in countries and criticized Israel and Saudi Arabia for what they consider oppression.
The video I'm talking about was not represented in any of the pictures in the story you provided a link to. The video I saw looked real, I'd need to see proof to retract my comment about it.

What video are you referring to?

What proof do you want me to provide?

Curious about Tlabi, I googled her. She definitely has a political view about the Israeli-Palestinian situation based on her Palestinian "roots" that she plans on expressing. The American Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC) sponsors trips to Israel for new members of Congress. Tlabi plans to lead one to the West Bank.

Quote:
She wants her delegations “to humanise Palestinians, provide an alternative perspective to the one AIPAC pushes, and highlight the inherent inequality of Israel’s system of military occupation in Palestinian territories,” something she compares to the treatment of black Americans in the Jim Crow era. 'I want us to see that segregation and how that has really harmed us being able to achieve real peace in that region. '”
Tlaib supports the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, about which I'm unfamiliar. She says:

Quote:
“I personally support the BDS movement,” Ms Tlaib said, before arguing that economic boycotts are an effective method to address “issues like the racism and the international human rights violations by Israel right now.”

I've read enough on the subject and have had enough life experience to know what I say is true. But those who don't want to believe wont, that's fine. Just don't expect me to keep my mind closed, eyes shut, or my knowledge of it to myself. Going any further into it would be hijacking the thread, not my intention.
