New Yorkers hated him because they are smart and knew he was a blowhard con man before anyone else. I never liked him, I can't stand people who have to tell you how great they are. If you are great you don't have to tell us, if you are rich you don't have to flaunt it or prove it to anyone.
He may have a mental condition where he doesn't know some truth from lies. A pathological liar like him has a sickness. That's why his handlers told him that he could not talk to Mueller or he would end up in an orange jumpsuit because he can't help but lie

That's whats wrong with people as to why they allow him to get away with this stuff, because "they take too much as a pun and a joke".... It's exactly what is meant by "People Acquiesce"... and the more they do so, the more they embolden Trump... because he see's it as an "endorsement".
This man sits in the seat of the American Presidency.... the damaging impact of what he says, damages America !!!!

I agree with your points, but bringing up Hitler has a way of shutting down discourse.
While the video is funny, it is also terrifying.
Bringing up Hitler, is exactly what's needed when the parallels are so evident. See, and take note, as to how Maxine Waters, speaks the truth UN-apologetically, (you should read the link in post #37 - "this") and you will understand why she does, and it may help one more clearly see why "word play" is not conducive to the Respect that American Democracy must have. She does not engage in word play, she calls its like it is as being what it is. Society can learn much from learning to do so. (And let go of the "watered down aims of diversions and deflections" as so many do, in aim to minimize the truths)
The discourse should always address truths that are evident, those who shut down and avoid discourse, seeks to avoid truths that are overtly evident.

If I titled this thread "Look, Trump is like Hitler", fewer Trump fans would bother reading it or watching the video.
There was a great podcast about Trumps reality TV Show and how many of the more clueless people watching it actually believed it had a basis in reality (or, more accurately, they KNEW it was real...in their minds).
It's amazing to hear the interviews because the "wanna be" contestants honestly live in a world where TV is real and acting and entertainment aren't what they are called.
I guess after Jerry Springer and that sort of thing nothing should surprise us.
