Check this out. Attorney, professor, "Newsweek" columnist and author of "Proof of Collusion: How Trump Betrayed America" Seth Abramson has just posted a lengthy but very well documented and convincing thread on his Twitter account, concerning the purpose of Trump's hastily called "National Security Meeting" at the Trump Hotel in Washington, D.C. on March 31, 2016. Note the photo of those in attendance - and consider what is now known about them.
Rachel Maddow first called attention to this meeting and its ramifications, but Abramson has investigated it farther and offers additional solid and very disconcerting information concerning the degree of Russian involvement not only in the Trump presidential campaign, but continuing during all the Trump administration to date.
Trump and his flunkies need to be removed from office for the sake of the future of our democracy. Trump's statement that he would consider declaring a national state of emergency because of the effects of the government shutdown which he himself caused (educate yourselves about what that would allow him to do, and how many of our taken-for-granted freedoms could be done away with) only adds to the evidence that he is not only heavily influenced by Putin, but is a tool of the Russian government - and Abramson's research helps confirm the suspicion that Trump has not just recently been drawn into the thrall of Putin, but that he has been a Russian tool for over a decade, long before he ran for president, largely due to financial reasons but quite possibly due to incriminating/damaging personal information as well.
Now, I am sure some of C-D's Trumpites will scoff at this and claim it's all a "Democrat"(ic) effort to tarnish their hero. It's not. Trump is doing a fine job of tarnishing himself and all who are part of or otherwise support him and his corrupt administration.
It's about preserving our democracy and our rights, and about keeping our country safe.

The above poster's link goes to a "Slate" opinion piece from 2017. Much has happened since that date, and I stand by my recommendation that readers here check out Abramson's very recent, very cogent, very pertinent thread on his Twitter account, concerning Trump's meeting with what he termed his "National Security Team", on March 31, 2016, well before he was nominated at the Republican Convention.
Yes talking about russia is what-aboutery compared to seventeen years of continuous war and all the destruction, lives lost, lives ruined and money spent
