hmm. Do you vote for a Democrat or a Democratic?

It's Democrat party. You vote for a Democrat.

Just like you vote for a Republican and Republican party. Libertarian and Libertarian party.

Except for the minute fact that that’s literally not how English works.

Adjectives vs. nouns and all.....

Feel free to pronounce it as you please, just don’t complain when people judge your understanding of English.

Why do GOPers use "DNC" when they mean the Democratic Party?
Oh the irony is just too rich here!

GOP != RNC. They’re not direct equivalents.

LOL.

The DNC is not a political entity. They are the operating committee of the Democratic Party, just like the RNC is for the Republicans. They are not run by politicians with any political power, nor can they even dictate policy to elected officials. They can try influence it, but their job is to raise money and support candidates who get elected and actually have political power.

It makes people look kind of foolish and uninformed IMO, when they talk about the DNC when they really mean the Democratic Party. Not that any political party is monolithic anyway, and individual officials are of course always free to vote differently that other members of their party.

Because they don't want to type out Democratic Party all the time. Provide a short acronym. How about DP?

People use DNC because it is short and easy to write and say. Maybe it avoids a quandary over whether to write Democrat Party or Democratic Party?

People associate DNC with the Democratic Party. That's probably because the DNC is associated with the Democratic Party.

as you even said the OPERATING committee.. the S3/G3 (operations) of an organization, they are the ones who write the talking points, the operation orders, and the SOP
Yes, they are talking heads and fund raisers.

But if you examine the current active threads, you will see a title that clearly refers to the DNC as being responsible for Congressional (lack of) action. Might as well blame McConnell’s actions on the RNC. If you think that either the DNC or the RNC somehow control their respective parties or their members in Congress - well, you don’t know much about party politics.
