I would trade our nation's vast network of illegal labor, which is a resource that some businesses tap into in order to make bigger profits. We are strong enough as a nation to endure such a loss. We will just have to settle for higher wages, less income inequality and more evenly dispersed prosperity...
I think there are vastly more effective ways to curb illegal immigration than building a border wall. They'll just go over under around, or through it (like they do now in areas where there is significant fencing. So I'd trade tougher laws on employment verification, better ID standards and requirements for use, and more spending on enforcement, for a wall.
