I guess it is good there is one less bad guy out there but I don't know about pulling out your six-shooter on a street corner and it being OK to just start blasting away. What if you miss? Where are those bullets going? Self protections is one thing, but endangering others is not good.
According to pro gun control people a good guy (or woman) with a gun is a myth. They will respond with "statistically her gun is more likely to be used against her".

Get over it...she protected herself and thinned the herd of a sick animal. And yes, its ok to start blasting away when your life in on the line. If it's not ok, I'm sure she'll be arrested and prosecuted. I'll not hold my breath waiting on that to happen.
