And just think, it's kinda a dumb comment to make, if 90% is coming through "legal ports of entry", how much is just walking over the border. Can you provide the ratio difference between what is caught just walking over the border vs what is caught at the legal entry points?

60 Minutes did a story on the Fentanyl problem. US doctors prescribing massive amounts and distributions inside the US from companies working with the pharma companies. Not manufactured in Mexico.

Fentanyl has emerged as the most dangerous new drug in a generation. Of the nearly 65,000 fatal opioid overdoses in the U.S. in 2016, one-third were fentanyl-related, double the amount from the year before. The drug has surpassed heroin as the leading cause of overdose deaths, and new data shows that fentanyl overdose deaths jumped 30 percent between July 2016 and September 2017.
Fentanyl was invented in 1959 to help cancer patients cope with intense post-surgical pain. These days, it’s prescribed as a lollipop or a patch, which slowly releases the dosage through the skin, typically used for a few days after a major surgery. Though illegal in pill form, black-market fentanyl pills have become common in the past decade. This happened after doctors cut back on prescribing OxyContin in 2007, when the government sued its manufacturer for misleading the public about the drug’s addictive risks.

i guess it proves once again Trump is messing with the data to misrepresent it and make it seem that Mexico is responsible for all our ills.
The truth is a wall does little to reduce drugs. Most drugs are brought in through flights, ships, cars, trucks and even subs. and of course people simply carrying them ...
drugs are a demand problem not a supply one. If somehow smuggling drugs was stopped we would just see more and more grows in the US...
Poppies cannot be grown in large enough quantities in the US, the climate is not right for them here.
It takes roughly 5-8 acres of poppies to produce enough heroin to keep one single moderate user supplied daily...now figure out how much acreage is needed to keep the entire nation supplied!!
