People working in the private sector on salary do that all the time. They might work 60-80 hours a week and don't get any overtime pay or even any extra pay at all for those additional hours.

If I were these guys, I'd be walking out and organizing a strike. I know, it sounds like a wet dream for a conservative. No government! Take it down to zero employees! Well, let's test that. Let's have a true government shutdown, if that's what we want. Right now, we shut down the part about their paychecks but still expect them to provide the service.

No air traffic control. No airport security. Take it down to zero. Watch air travel grind to a halt.

Coast guard, FDA food inspections, drug approvals, homeland security...same thing. Bring it all to a halt.

Do that a few times when politicians get frisky and maybe the *******s in Washington will get the message that screwing around with people's livelihoods who are actually doing an important service to our society is not acceptable.

Politicians can spar over walls and whatever the hell else, but they shouldn't be able to hold peoples' ability to pay for their kid's school and for the roof over their head as hostage for leverage.
You have to remember that many (obviously not all) conservatives have never and will never leave their little rural areas. They aren't going to care if air travel grinds to a halt... they're not going anywhere anyway. So that wouldn't really affect them.

From the posting since this debacle started, I would say you just described half the people commenting on here. Add to that low I.Q. and extremely brainwashed.

I didn't say reduced pay. I said no pay. But please, keep dodging the question. Then there is the question, is 6 months really enough. The Neo-Fuhrer is scheduled to remain in office for at least 2 years.

You might want to rethink which party is plagued with low IQ. Read the data...

Percent of Public Assistance Program Recipients Who Identify as:

Democrat:

Public Housing: 81%
Medicaid: 74%
Food Stamps: 67%
Welfare or public assistance: 63%

Republican:

Public Housing: 12%
Medicaid: 16%
Food Stamps: 20%
Welfare or public assistance: 22%

Data source: Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs

Are Welfare Recipients Mostly Republican? Or Democrat?

A study needs to be conducted to find out why Democrats are so much less capable than Republicans of supporting themselves.

Exactly. Those on salary in the private sector receive NO PAY for any additional hours/week they work over 40 hours.

You could be the most irresponsible person in the world and it won't justify not getting paid.

Exactly. There is a new bridge being built in the Los Angeles-Long Beach harbor. Price? At least 1.2 Billion dollars. Just for a bridge. Meanwhile throwing the sanctuary employers in prison would be far cheaper and effective than a wall.
